Spring in to Selling

Prep your home for spring selling!

The leaves are turning green and the flowers are starting to bloom. These small signs of spring are your cue to look for things that may need refreshing after those long winter months.

If you are preparing to sell your home, know that buyers want to see a home that has been well taken care of during winter. Freshening up, inside and out, will help it look more appealing to a buyer.

Here are some tips to get you started:

1.      Wash Your windows (inside and out.)

Windows take on the wind, the dirt, and the snow of winter. Take a few minutes and wash them thoroughly. You will see a huge difference in lighting. Change out those wintery curtains to light and airy ones, that will brighten up your living areas.

2.      Clean out your gutters.

Take 15-30 minutes to clean out your gutters; it saves you money in the long run. Clearing your gutters helps avoid flooding in spring rains and shows buyers you take care of your home.

3.      Bring the color inside.

Bring those bright colorful flowers that have started to bloom inside to add color. You could also buy some colorful flowers and place them around your home. Bright throw pillows add a nice pop to a room as well.

4.      Take care of your Lawn.

Begin preparing your lawn for spring by raking up the left-over leaves, picking up random branches in the yard, and fertilizing your yard for the upcoming season.

5.      Repair Roof Damage.

There is nothing that turns away a buyer quicker than a damaged roof. After winter has ended, the first thing that you need to do is check your roof for damage. While you are up there,  remove any branches and leaves left from the winter. Get your roof prepared for those spring rains by patching up holes and replacing shingles.

6. Do Spring Cleaning.

Yearly spring cleaning includes, de-cluttering, donating, and reorganizing. Find those things that need to go! Once you know what you are keeping, get some cute storage options to keep everything in it’s place.
